Title: Raider Application - Evoker (DPS) - Iserra (XR)
Post by: Applicant on April 28, 2025, 11:12:31 am
Hello, Iron Edge!

I am applying for the main raid.

Character: Iserra
Server: Tarren-Mill
Armory: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/character/eu/Tarren-Mill/Iserra
Class/Spec: Evoker (DPS)
Member Type: Raider

Personal Info:

Hi,
my name is Christoph, I am 38 years young and live in Germany.
My field of work is the vast land of IT consulting, but my heart and home is with family, gaming and hobby addon development. I am playing WoW since shortly after release, with some raid breaks in between.

Class/Spec:

Wish I could select Evoker in the dropdown, but that's what I play: Devastation.
Played a tiny bit of Pres in Aberrus and quite a lot of Aug in M+, and a bit in raids, when it was viable/needed.
Gear is around 671, close enough to BiS items. Not much gear for the other specs as they are not rally viable atm and devo is too much fun.

Do you want an honest answer or a guide rewrite/copy&paste? :)

Depends on the hero talents, but both are pretty straight forward for the most part.
Flameshaper leans a bit more towards haste while Scalecommander wants a bit more crit with Crit~=Haste>Mast>Vers overall.
Rotational both specs are quite linear and on a ~20 cycle with empowered spells (and engulf for FS). Essenc build/spend is a bit proc dependant outside of Dragonrage but easy to play around. Free cast proc building is done with Living Flame outside of DR (with proc inside of DR as well) and Azure Strike inside DR or while heavy movement with no Hover or other options available. Spending is done with Disintegrate on ST (or cleave for Scale) and Pyre in heavy aoe. For FS there's one additional ruleset: don't engulf without all buffs in ST unless overcapping and not without FB dot on the target on aoe. Besides that: blast away!

While Scalecommander is probably the most mobile (caster) class in the game, Flamshaper does not share that boon, unfortunately.

Alts:

I have a relatively well geared (668) elemental shaman which I play decently well.

Professions:

Alchemy. (I have 3 almost fully specced. I like to sustain myself with flasks and pots where possible. Can craft cauldrons)
JC, missing only some pvp gems. Was a decent choice to get some gold in.

Raiding Experience:

NP: 4/8M (dps, 5/8M tank)
Amirdrasil: 7/9M (pre-awakened)
Aberrus: 5/9M (pre-awakened)
VotI: 5/8M (pre-awakened)
Sanctum: 4/8M (took a break after)
Nathria: 7/10M

Playing since release, mostly DPS on rogue, druid and evoker, with only some small raid breaks.
Some CE back in the day: Xavius, Archimonde, Garrosh.

Previous Guilds:

Eclipsé (current): raid broke down.
Light of Eärendil: left after S1, to follow some (returning) friends/guildies, but did not like the atmosphere too much by the end.
Somnia: some toxic players which later left as well, but I could not stand raiding anymore.
Many Murderous Meows: raid broke down.

Availability:

Usually: all weekdays starting 20:00, on raid-nights I can be there 19:40ST. Weekends depend.
Some planned vacations around the year which I usually can address early on in regards of availability.

Communication:

Fluent second language. Audio setup is proven to work.

Computer / Connection:

Big gaming machine, good stable internet.

Addons/UI:

https://imgur.com/a/xyiMI47

ElvUI, WA, Plater, DBM, (currently Liquid Aura Reminders), Cell, Clique, Details.
Basically all of these for two things: UI style and information tracking.
Everything else is cosmetic or QoL.
Keybinds are setup for an Azecon Cyborg and Corsair Scimitar, with some Clique bindings, so not much reference that I could give about it.

Other Games:

Not much, occasional Overwatch or Rocket League with friends, RPGs, souls(like), shooter, whatever appears pleasing at the time.

Why Iron Edge?

I am looking for a stable raid environment with "family friendly" raid times (starting ~20:00ST) and 2-3 raids per week but good progress. You're looking like a good match for that. Besides that, a relaxed but focused raid environment would be great, but I cannot judge that yet.

What can I offer Iron Edge?

Stable attendance and gameplay, resilience and help with addons and WAs.

Where did I hear about Iron Edge?

raider.io guild search.

Last Words?

Would be happy to hear back from you.
Please consider keeping any spelling mistakes and treasure them in my stead, as I apparently did not want them.
