of a film I watched a while back.
It's about the (I think English) government getting a message to build some sort of cage, with a mixture of gas in it so the aliens who plan to visit, can breathe and communicate. A lot of worldleaders are present at the moment the aliens enter the cage and start to speak.
Somewhere near the end of the film, there is this little girl trapped in the gascage, with a mask on. The aliens shaved her head and experimented on her.
Dr. Google or IMDB can't tell me the name of this one. Halp!

Sounds like an interesting plot. Never heard of it.
-
Sounds like an episode from Doctor Who to be honest.
-
sounds like "X Files" to me o.O
-
What kind of movie was it, like what genre? Did you recognize any actors? Did they use any acronyms or specific (made up) names, such as the name of the facility?
How did they call the aliens? Just aliens or "extraterrestrials" or something else?
What was the quality of the video/any idea when the movie was made? Where did you see it? On tv or something?
Any of these questions answered would make a google search a lot easier :P
-
Is it Rocky IV with Dolph Lundgren?
-
The plot sounds similar to the movie 'Contact' with Jodi Foster in it, but that device isn't a gaschamber.
-
Damn I need the title as well now to see this movie!
-
I think I recall it being in London, seeing all those formal buildings and the Big Ben etc. The chamber was build in an official building.
There are a couple of different few points to the same events. One of them is from a Lady secretary/Personal assistant, the other is from a family missing their girl child (who turns up abducted and experimented on in the chamber filled with the gas).
The film start with a message or instructions to build that chamber with the special atmosphere created so the extra terrestrials (as they name them) can breathe. The message mentions a set time and place, then all the world leaders gather, sit in the room (also the woman secretary and the father of the child are present.
The ET's demand, I think, half of the world population. They want to either use people as food or as batteries. I can't remember. The girl that was abducted served as a example of what they would do to the whole world population if they don't cooperate.
I did not recognize any of the actors, it's obviously Sci-Fi. I think I saw it on HBO or on SciFi channel, not sure. Definitely a film, not a series and not a film made of a series story line.

I loved farscape, it seems a bit weird with the jim henson stuff in the start but you learn to love it fast.
Lots of great scifi references and humour.
Give it a few episodes.
Im watching the first episode of torchwood atm., feels a bit too low budget. And a bit too much like doctor who.

TORCHWOOD IS AN ANAGRAM OF DOCTOR WHO!

lol so clearly an hommage.
Ah its apparently a spin-off even.
-
Gawd! I love Torchwood. Give it a few episodes Grax, really, stick with it a little ;)
I'm going to start watching it again this afternoon ^^
I'll give Farscape a try too if you say it's awesome :)
-
It is indeed a Spin-off, so it'll be more fun if you've watched Doctor Who (2005 onward), as they mention Torchwood alot in there.
It's low budget, but that kind of makes it more fun to watch imo, that they do manage to make an entertaining show without a budget. Same was for Doctor Who in early 2005, looks like shit. Though I'm glad they have a higher budget now with all the Whovians, looks kind of better and more entertaining to watch.
-
^^lol
Yeah the low budget that's what I was afraid of and that's why I never watched torchwood. Uk series like Doctor Who are really not my thing either, way too slow phased and lack the polish of US ones.
I'm halfway through the 2nd season of Farscape now and it just lacks a main storyline imo, it's almost all filler episodes which is kinda uncool, that and I just hate Ben Browder, I think he's a lousy actor (One of the worst I've seen tbfh) and I really disliked him in Stargate as well. Was devastated when HE replaced Richard Dean Anderson in that show, what a step back.
On the other hand though you have the amazing Claudia Black who really brought Stargate to a higher level in the last 2 seasons and she is also great on Farscape and one of the reasons I'm still watching (that and Sparky).
-
I can see the difficulty if you hate ben browder.
-
I can see the difficulty if you hate ben browder.
I was hoping it was just his role in Stargate and I'd get over it, but still after ~30 episodes of Farscape I still cringe :P
-
I watched farscape when it was actually aired, so it was the first time I saw him, and I loved Chricton. I hated him in SG1 as well, also because I couldnt see him as anything buy chricton :P
-
something about a girl painted blue was pretty sexy back then too :P

Since Lannei started this, i wonder if you guy can help me find the name of this movie.
It's about some guys, 20+ that go to a renaissance fair. They role play there, with one of them about to "level up". So he starts reading random shit from a book and BAM! Zombies and monsters everywhere. So... shit gets real. Literally.
NO IDEA what else i could say about the movie... just that the "wizard guy that levels up" is known for some 80s and 90s comedies. But i can't remember his name. Kinda looks like Michael J. Fox. But just kinda, not too much.
Thanks in advance.
