My name is zak, I'm 20 years old, born originally in Scotland but now live and work in England as a Weapons Engineer in the military.

Class/Spec:

During my early stages of HFC I personally played a lot of frost, mainly because I didn't at the time have the gear optimisation to perform better in unholy. Throughout clearing week after week and progressing, I got extremely lucky regarding gear, and then switched to unholy. Unholy is now my main spec with my offspec being Blood. The only reason that I'm currently playing these two specs, Unholy compared to frost is much more enjoyable to play, less reliant on procs/rng and like I said I prefer to play it more because of the enjoyment. Blood is my offspec because during my raiding time in cataclysm, it was my main spec, completed Firelands and Dragon Soul as blood, and will always have it there due to that being what I played in a raiding environment the very first time.

Necroblight - 740ilvl
Breath of Sindragosa - 736ilvl
Blood - 736ilvl

Unholy - Stat priority for me, Multistrike > Mastery.

Regarding Breath of Sindragosa spec specifically - I have around 58-59% Multi, this is because the amount of extra damage you get during BoS is significant enough to stack it, hence why the Iron Maidens Trinket from Blackrock Foundry on mythic is the BiS. When I play Necroblight I believe that I can sarcrifice a bit of multi for some mastery so that my dots alone tick for more.

Necroblight - This spec requires basically a balance between use of Festering Strike/Scourge Strike/Blood Boil(AoE Specific Bosses) In order to keep Necrotic Plauge present on the boss for the whole duration until Unholy Blight is off CD, that is where you then let your Necrotic Plague fall off and refresh it with the use of Unholy Blight.

Breath of Sindragosa - This is a burst type of spec, mainly used on single target fights, that requires the generation of runic power to keep the Breath of Sindragosa up for as long as possible. To do this requires good use of runes/abilities, such as Plague Leach/Arcane Torrent(Blood Elf Racial) Empower Rune Weapon or in magic damage based fights which is near enough every encounter, you can use Anti Magic Shield to absorb magic damage for Runic Power.

Professions:

I have Jewelcrafting and mining.

However, since the removal of the bonuses you received for having maxed professions, I haven't maxed them. I make my gold through boosting/Garrisons and just buy what I need from the Auction House.

Raiding Experience:

Raided in a friends guild in Firelands - Blood DK however we only cleared 6/7HC, then I took it into my own hands to create a pug for Ragnaros HC where I got my first kill.

I raided semi hardcore in cataclysm as a DK, but at that time I was Blood MS I managed to killed Madness of Deathwing on 25HC following that I then took a long break to focus on IRL matters.

I came back to WoW in September so never had any experience when Highmaul and Blackrock Foundry was current. My experience in HFC is 13/13M but now that's killed I want to either farm it with the social side on off-raid days (something I don't have just now) or just play social.

Previous Guilds:

I left this guild due to focusing on my IRL where I got a new job(the job I have now) and wanted to make sure I focused on that so I made a good impression.

Since coming back to WoW in September - I raided in a guild called Flare, where I progressed with them from Killrog > half way through Archimonde on Mythic. I had left here because there was a few issues that I brought up regarding the guild. I gave them 2 weeks to make an effort to sort these problems before applying to another guild. I was then accepted into a new guild where I then waiting another week to see if anything could be sorted and yet still nothing. So with all due respect to the players there I made a forum post making it public to the entire guild how I felt and to let them know I was leaving.

My current guild, one I explained to Bendiee, is a very good guild when it comes to raiding, but unfortunately not something that I entirely want. I'm a very social player, I enjoy helping guildies, I enjoy just chilling with people doing mythics/ts3 anything, but when players log on literally only for one day a week(assuming we clear 13 in one night) it takes away the social side for me. And after meeting Bendiee in an alt mythic raid I made last week he explained to me what Iron Edge is and that's what's inspired me to make an application.



Availability:

I'm almost available all the time, other than emergencies where I have to work someone's shift if I'm unlucky enough to get a call to cover their hours. Other than that I finish work around 16.30GMT and am available from then on.

Communication:

Well my English as a scotsman, ive been told I sometimes end up mumbling but I guess that comes from my background, basically saying you can understand me all the time fair play to you.

And yes I have Ts3 and willing to talk and happily listen.

Computer / Connection:

There will be occasions where I have and fps drop on pulls, but it doesn't happen too often. My internet connection is extremely stable sitting on around 10-20ms all the time.

Why Iron Edge?

I want to join because I've heard about how good the community is, being described as 'One big family' and that's something that I enjoy about gaming, is the social side of it. Raiding is all good and stuff but without a social side I simply don't enjoy the game as much as I should.

What can I offer Iron Edge?

I can offer a very social player, willing to help alts/guildies, in any difficulty. Question/boosting players who are stuck at the level that just drags on and on, (levelled a lot of characters its painful). Or even if someone just needs a fast flight somewhere and doesn't have flying/fast mount. I'd also like to say that I think I'm kinda funny whether people laugh at me or with me either way they are laughing right?

In a raiding point of view - you can expect to see my prepared with all max consumables, max level gems no matter what ilvl the gear is. A player who researches the fight not only from my own roles point of view but from the other roles as well to see what I can contribute if applicable.

I don't think he's a tchauter (chookter) though, good apply but what are your plans for legion? As I've only read your happy with just the social spot for now. If you can clarify just what your after as you say a social spot now but under the raider application.

As previously said its a good apply and need to wait on that damn phoenixflame to reply for you, he may have questions we haven't asked of you.

Definitely not a chookter! Plans for legion; I do want to raid, and regarding me using the raiding application, was to get both points across to show that I am a capable raider, but also that I want the social side. As said at the end of my app, I don't mind if there isn't room for raiders cause i'll enjoy the social life, but if there is room for raiders I also wouldn't mind carrying on some farm.

Hey Zix,

although your application looks promising, I cannot give you a raid spot currently since our roster is full. Adding to that, we are slowly scaling down our raiding since we have basically cleared this tier.
While you can't join the raid currently, I'd love to welcome you as a social though for the time being. Then, when the time has come for the raid to get ready for legion, we could talk about you being a main raider. What do you think?

I can't get your logs to open on my phone, will check them out when I'm home, but Vej seems impressed.

I like your UI, clean and simple. I can share some Weak Auras and TellMeWhen strings that may help you track Blood Charges for Blood Tap, Shadow Infusion, Disease times and Dark Transformation.  How are you currently keeping tabs of these buffs/abilities? The damage increase you gain from Dark Transformation is huge, I'd have thought you would want to keep a close eye on when it falls off.

Your UI shows you have Mind Freeze key bound to SS, is this a Shift modifier? I also can't see Death & Decay bound.

You don't appear to have a pet bar, how do you know if your Timmy dies or keep your pet under control? There's a DK trick for maximum burst where you need to have pet control for while using Glyph of Death's Demise.

Blood Charges - In the previous Screenshots you can see the Blood Charge count middle top left of my screen.

Regarding the bindings - Yes it is a shift modifier - however when in fights that I'm not required in an interrupt rotation i'll always move it from 'R' to 'SS', don't ask why I've just got into a habit of doing it and it works for me somehow. Death and Decay + Deaths Advance are both on my Mouse.

Regarding that trick for burst, since my pet stands to the left of me, on Archimonde for example I just move next to the green lava, then ends up with my pet standing in there instead, go in AMS etcetc.
