Raider Application - Warrior (DPS) - Ruskomsnusk
« on: December 07, 2022, 07:36:50 am »
Hello, Iron Edge!

I am applying for the main raid.

Character: Ruskomsnusk
Armory: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/character/eu/Kazzak/Ruskomsnusk
Class/Spec: Warrior (DPS)
Member Type: Raider

Personal Info:

Heya! I'm Thomas/Bjolle/Rusk whatever u prefer :) Im a 27 year old chill and laid back danish guy with a positive as well as competitive mindset. Im currently studying technology management and maritime engineering and in my free time im a gamer by heart with a large variety of games on my resume :)

Class/Spec:

I play both fury and arms and will be changing between the two through the raid if needed. Right now im in fury since its currently the overall strongest of the two specs and will be the one that is used for most bosses. Arms will likely have its spot on certain bosses on pure single target and 2-target encounters tho.

During the first week of DF ilvl has been king so my sets for both specs are the same (370 ilvl) but during the second week, ill be able to work on more fine tuned sets for each specs.

Warrior is possibly one of the most underrated classes on the raid roster right now. With one spec it brings a combination of great aoe dmg and good single target dmg with fantastic burst potential. On another spec it brings stronger single target and 2-target but at the cost of AOE potential. Its a class with the possibility to adjust and fit the encounters needs and on top of that brings an AP buff and one of the strongest raid defensives in Rallying cry, while also having a ton of personals (on fury).

Playing fury we are looking at 2 builds consisting of a bloodthirst and a raging blow focused build. Both being similar in rotation but has different stat priorities.
The BT focused build is strong in aoe heavy encounters and brings fantastic aoe burst with a good ST dmg. This build prioritise str>crit>mastery>vers=haste to bring in bigger dmg numbers during the burst in form of crits and a stronger enrage.
The RB focused build is likely the one to be used during most boss encounters. Its fury's ST build which brings stronger ST dmg for the boss time but still has a very viable aoe dmg (you can also spec off the aoe dmg so its pure ST but stronger, but then Arms would likely be stronger). This build prioritise str>haste>mastery>crit=vers to speed up the GCD, swing-timer and bring more rage to pump up the amount of rotational abilities we get through by putting haste in 1st.
To keep it a little short, the spec work around a priority list that looks like; Crushing Blow>rampage>execute>bloodbath>RB>BT>whirlwind. Crushing blow/bloodbath are mod of RB/BT from reckless abandon. During aoe you throw CR down to RB and put bloodbath/BT over execute and below. very fast paced, very fun :)

Arms is very strong in pure ST and 2-target cleave, which is where itll likely find its place over fury. It has a very strong execute phase and brings a fair amount of personals on top of Battle shout and rallying cry.
For ST, the main focus of this build is to spend as much rage as possible during colossus smash to build up your test of might buff while keeping ur bleed up on the target. Outside the execute phase the rotation is about using mortal strike on cd while keeping ur rage in a healthy state, so youre ready for the next CS. You do this by using your sudden death crocs when you can and when low on rage, use overpower and slam as a filler. In execute phase, execute becomes the main rage spender but MS will still be used with 2 buffs of executioners precision.
The cleave build is more bleed focused. you will be using thunderclap and Cleave to keep up the bleed on both targets. While doing that, you will use sweeping strikes to make your abilities hit 2 targets. Other than that, similar to the ST build.
Both build have the priorities str>crit>haste>Mastery>vers. It prioritises crit cus it has crit enchancing talents which makes it stronger and haste to reduce swing-timer and speed up the majority of the abilities.

Alts:

Never been playing alts, i like focusing on my main and putting my time into that class so yeah, no alts :)

Professions:

Im currently mining/herb just for a consistent income of gold. Im more than willing to change it if u want me to have another profession. Also, of course ill change it if another prof gives a noticable advantage to my performance.

Raiding Experience:

I used to do cutting edge raiding during antorus back in legion and throughout BFA as a warrior. I got CE in every raid that i did through that time (AN, Uldir, BoD and EP). Sadly i had to leave during ny'alotha when we got to carapace due to some IRL changes so i wasnt able to raid anymore.

Heres a couple links of my old logs on my old warrior and rogue:
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/character/eu/silvermoon/ruskomsnusk?zone=24#
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/character/eu/silvermoon/badutski#zone=26

You can see the CE's if u go back to the previous raids listed above :)

Previous Guilds:

I came back to the game for Shadowlands as rogue and started raiding mythic but the guilds wasnt what they promised and didnt get close to meeting my goal (CE every tier) as well as being a toxic community. Therefore i chose to say goodbye and look for a guild more suitable for me that values community positivity and was able to kill the majority of the raids.
After a long search for the right guild, I eventually joined a top 800 guild for CN which was good but after we killed mythic sludgefist, the leadership (consisting of an IRL friendgroup) had a change of heart and decided to stop raiding and the guild ended up disbanding. I didnt wanna go through the long search again and tbh wasnt a fan of the maw or torghast so i decided to stop.

Availability:

Im always available for the raids. Its my hobby and i make time for it.

My study isnt an issue, i get my work done during the day and work time will not interact with the raid times. That being said, i do have a singular exam the 16th of January but it wont affect my attendance :)

Dont worry about holidays either, i basically never travel haha

Communication:

I have a functioning microphone and i dont mind speaking english and being vocal at all :)

Computer / Connection:

PC is decent, no fps issues so far (RTX2080, i7 9700k, 16gb ram).
Internet connections is as stable as can be, no worries about that and no lag (apart from when in azure span during launch week lol what a mess xD).

Addons/UI:

DBM of course (dont mind going to bigwigs if u prefer me to).
WA for boss WA's and my UI for best performance.
ElvUI for UI purposes to improve performance.
Details dmg meter cus why not.
Plater for better nameplates to improve performance.

UI: Put red boxes for the things not shown (and dont mind the rare list on top left xD).

Other Games:

mainly wow and warzone 2/DMZ

But also played a bunch of other games that i dont mind jumping on sometimes ex. league, csgo, valorant, Apex, OW2, SUPER PEOPLE, New world, fortnite, human fall flat, fall guys and it goes on.. xD

Why Iron Edge?

I read through ur wow progress and saw u were looking for a warrior and u sounded like a well rounded guild that shares the same values that i do in a guild :)

What can I offer Iron Edge?

Im a chill and laid back guy with a positive as well as competitive mindset. I analyze my gameplay through logs and always try to improve myself. I am my own biggest critic. I do my homework before raids and show up prepared to raid as well as learn quick to minimize mistakes and improve for the next pull. I do whats necessary for the progress even if it hurts the log numbers (can always work on logs later on after progress:) ). I value a good raid environment with a fun and positive but focused mindset. I like pushing high keys so if theres any m+ ppl, im totally down for that :) I know it is a bit complicated when im a returning player and all but im super hyped and motivated for dragonflight and ready to push myself and test my skills again in the coming raids!

Where did I hear about Iron Edge?

I saw your guild on wowprogress :)

Last Words?

If u have any questions for me or u wna have a talk maybe, feel free to reach out and send a friend request on BNET: Bjolle#21642. Ofc ill keep an eye on this forum as well. Looking forward to hearing from u! Best regards Thomas :)

Hi Thomas,

We've reviewed the application and would like to offer you a position in the guild as a trial for the main raid.

You can poke an officer for an invite.
Welcome!
