Hi!
Im Richelle, 28, Dutch, and soon to be a PhD candidate in astronomy (direct imaging / planet formation). I started playing WoW in BFA and have been doing mythic raiding on Alliance Ravencrest in BFA and Horde Kazzak in Shadowlands (only first 2 raids). The problem is that in those expansions it started feeling like a second job, and thats not what I wanted so I ended up quitting. Now I've heard that Dragonflight is better so I started playing again 3 weeks ago and am looking for a nice group of people to raid with. I don't want to go into mythic raiding again because I don't have the time and I don't want to feel guilty if I can't make it one night due to real life things. I want to have fun raiding but also be with people who read up on mechanics and stuff. I think this would be perfect!

Class/Spec:

I've mainly played mage, also a bit of boomie at some point, but I have always enjoyed playing mage the most. I have played all specs at some point (because it was required for mythic raiding at the time) but I never enjoyed arcane too much, the burn and preserve phase thing isn't doing it for me and as that is kind of the whole base of the class I'd rather not play that again. I loved fire the most, and am definitely looking to play fire again. However, I've been told that it (as usual) scales with secondaries alot so you need to be ~410 ilvl to have a decent output as fire, which is why I am currently playing frost. Also fun, but slightly less fun

Alts:

Not very relevant, my alt Mangotron is still lvl 50 and I don't plan on investing time in a second character.

Professions:

Same as last expansion, alchemy and engineering. However, since I only started 3 weeks ago I haven't touched it. I picked alchemy for the flask (or vial its called now I think) duration and engineering because I think (again, havent looked into it too much yet) I can make combatresses then which is useful for pushing keys

I don't know if my brain is just disfunctional but I hardly remember anything about raiding in BFA, except some vague memory of discussions about whether a button you had to press in a bossfight was orange or red :')

I really enjoyed raiding with the guild I was in (equanimity) in Shadowlands, but I think approximately a month or so after I quit they also stopped raiding because it was the time where most people were getting burned out from the game, and also happened to have things come up irl. I really liked that we could laugh and banter in between fights *unless it caused us to die on trash 100000 times, at which point the raid lead would use his serious voice* but be serious during the fights.

Previous Guilds:

I mainly remember equanimity.. I was in guilds before that but I don't even remember the names, or why I left. Equanimity was good fun and I never left the guild, I just quit the game, and when I came back 3 weeks ago the guild was as good as empty because many left and came back, and when they came back they also left to look for another guild with active members.

Availability:

I love M+ so I will probably be online regularly to push keys. Only night I'm almost certainly not on (or on very late, possibly intoxicated) is friday evening. Besides that you'll probably see me online multiple nights a week.

System / Connection:

I have a pc that can run this (asus GeForce GTX 1070ti and a Ryzen 5 2600 CPU), and my internet connection is stable. I generally don't disconnect; I have experienced none in the past 3 weeks.

On some weird and rare occasions there are some short freezes of less than a sec that I haven't experienced before, but it hasn't been serious enough for me to want to go into finding out which of the addons is causing it.

Addons/UI:

Its been a while since I've been raiding but I used
DBM  - speaks for itself I think
Weakauras, specifically one for the raid tier - clearer in your face announcements of not standing in fire
simc/raidbots/wowanalyzer/details - all to try and get the most out of the spec
infinite raid tools - for the life of me can't remember what this was for but it was required
rclootcouncil - speaks for itself, but I wonder if its still usable with the new loot mechanism


Other Games:

I have played FFXIV in between WoW SL and WoW Dragonflight, which I very much enjoyed and probably will get back to at some point as well.

Why Iron Edge?

I checked out guilds on wowprogress and was looking for a guild that does not require two nights a week for mythic raiding, because I think with my real life that would be a commitment I can't uphold. However, I am still looking for a group of people who are serious about doing good in the night that they do log on for raiding. Basically people who maybe at some point in their life were serious about mythic raiding but now want to take it a bit more easy because of real life stuff. I want to log on to wow to just enjoy myself and have fun in the raids. I also checked active members and M+ scores, because I want to be able to log in on a non-raid night and still see alot of people online to chat with or do stuff with in game. I think my main focus is going to be pushing high keys, and its nice if there are many people in the guild who share that interest. I think this guild really fits all of these things, so I think it would be fun to join you!

What I can offer Iron Edge:

A new active member I will read up on raiding fights beforehand and although I am not a professional gamer and definitely make dumb mistakes every now and then, I am at least a decent raider with two hands. If anything, I will try to improve on fights and Im open to feedback of course. If you're looking for someone to have fun with during the raids, I think I can offer you that After all, I am playing this game to have a good time. And if any group is looking for a new M+ member, maybe that is me! Just not yet though because I will need a few weeks to gear up for that.

This keybinds might seem a bit crazy, so I just want to clarify that I don't have freakishly long fingers; 7, 8 and 9 are bound to my extra mouse buttons and all the buttons on the left, such as ], are bound to my extra G keys.

If you are ok with the fact that we usually dont attempt to raid mythic then you sound like a good fit for tot. We were discussing opening up recruitment again.

We already have a few nerdy academics in the raid and I am married to one of those nerdy PhDs myself.

As mentioned the ToT Raid does normal and heroic difficulties and is on Wednesdays 20:30 - 23:30 server time.

Recruitment is currently closed as you noticed, but I'd like to still offer you a trial. We currently have 31 raiders on the roster, so I cannot guarantee a spot every week.

If this acceptable to you please message an officer for a invite to the guild.
