Weekend Raider Application - Warlock (DPS) - nãshor
« on: April 23, 2023, 03:59:44 pm »
Hello, Iron Edge!

I am applying for the Weekend Raid.

Character: nãshor
Armory: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/character/eu/Kazzak/n%C3%A3shor
Class/Spec: Warlock (DPS)
Member Type: Weekend Raider

Personal Info:

I am a 28-year-old individual who works in the chemistry field, specifically with PIR (polyisocyanurate) insulation boards. These boards are used for thermal insulation in the construction industry due to their high resistance to heat and flame. In my free time, I enjoy playing handball, a popular team sport that involves passing a ball using your hands to throw it into the opposing team's goal.

I have two cats at home, even though I am allergic to them. This shows that I have a strong affection for My feline companions and are willing to endure some discomfort for their sake. It's essential to manage my allergies to ensure I stay healthy and comfortable around your pets.

I have a long-term girlfriend of 10 years who is currently pregnant. This exciting new chapter in my life may bring about changes and new responsibilities, as I prepare to welcome a new member into my family. As new parents, it is important to support each other, communicate effectively, and share the joys and challenges of raising a child together.

Class/Spec:

I am planning to play demonology warlock as that will be the "flavor" of the next patch. However, i am proficient in all three specs. I am currently leveling a void elf warlock which i plan to have "raid ready" by getting carried by my great guildies.

As of my knowledge cutoff since last playing warlock in September 2021, the following rotation is relevant for a Demonology Warlock in World of Warcraft. Keep in mind that updates and expansions may have changed the game since then so my knowledge might not be entirely up-to-date.

Demonology Warlock Rotation (Single Target):

Cast Summon Demonic Tyrant when available (use after summoning several demons to maximize damage).
Cast Hand of Gul'dan if you have 3-4 Soul Shards.
Cast Call Dreadstalkers if available.
Cast Demonbolt if your Demonic Core buff is active.
Cast Hand of Gul'dan if you have 1-2 Soul Shards.
Cast Shadow Bolt as a filler spell when no other abilities are available.

Keep in mind that this is a basic rotation, and advanced players (such as myself) may optimize their damage output by adapting to procs, cooldowns, and encounter mechanics. Additionally, I make sure to use My utility spells and crowd control abilities as needed during the encounter.

Also, remember to keep that i keep Felguard pet summoned and use its abilities, such as Axe Toss and Felstorm, when appropriate.

For multi-target or AoE situations, I need to adapt my rotation to prioritize abilities like Implosion and maintain Hand of Gul'dan on multiple targets.

Alts:

all of them. But not shaman, shamans suck, including all the people who play shamans. Aside from Munjica.

Professions:

I have two professions but nothing cool/ancient, here is why:

Herbalism: This gathering profession allows you to collect herbs from various zones throughout the game world. Herbs are in constant demand for crafting potions, flasks, and other consumables used by players in both PvE and PvP scenarios. Herbalism is a popular choice for making gold because of the ever-present need for consumables, especially during new content releases when players are preparing for raids and dungeons.

Alchemy: As a crafting profession, alchemy pairs well with herbalism. With the herbs you collect, you can create potions, flasks, elixirs, and other useful items. Alchemy can be a consistent gold-maker, as players need consumables throughout the expansion. Additionally, alchemists can benefit from the passive ability to craft additional flasks or potions when creating them, making it a potentially lucrative profession.

These two professions work well together because you can gather the materials needed for alchemy through herbalism, making you self-sufficient. Additionally, both professions offer utility and profit potential for my character.

Raiding Experience:

I have had very limited raiding experience until joining Iron edge where i raided starting in battle for azeroth.

Before i raided in Iron edge i raided mythic tomb of sargeras and antorus the burning throne on the US-realm on my warlock, the experience i gathered during this time really helped my proficiency as a warlock.

During my time at Iron Edge we, as a team, managed to not get 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 Cutting edge achievements including:
- G'huun (started as paladin healer finished as druid healer)
- jaina (started as druid healer finished as boomkin as our boomkin left and it was strong on the fight)
- n'zoth (back to druid healer, even joined the officer team during this time). The previous officer, some british bald guy, stopped raiding at this time.
- Sire Denathrius in shadowlands would be my last Cutting edge achievement i would get with Iron Edge

My time as a raider sadly stopped on Sylvana progression. The raiding times were too late/long and started interfering with my new day job. This is why i had to step down.

Previous Guilds:

Mostly just Iron Edge, been here since 2018. Other irrelevant guilds were all on the US server. Raiding from 1-3 am on the US wasn't really working so i left my US guild to go to the EU

Availability:

I sometimes have to travel on sunday for work but this only happened once in the last year. I have handball matches on sunday but never in the evening so this shouldn't interfere.

I'm going on holiday from the 28th of may till the 4th of june so will probably miss one raid.

Communication:

I'm a great listener, if you have any problems you can come to me. i sometimes have a slur in my speech which is not great but i can make myself be heard. My proficiency in the English language is second to none shown by this example:

The majestic eagle soared effortlessly through the azure sky, its keen eyes scanning the verdant landscape below for any signs of movement. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a kaleidoscope of colors across the heavens, the eagle alighted on a sturdy branch, ruffling its feathers as it settled in for the night. In the distance, the silvery tendrils of a meandering river glistened under the moonlight, providing a lifeline for the myriad creatures that inhabited the thriving ecosystem.

Throughout history, innumerable poets and authors have endeavored to capture the essence of the natural world in their writings, weaving intricate tapestries of words that evoke vivid images and provoke deep emotions. The eloquence and versatility of the English language have made it an ideal medium for such creative expressions, allowing for a diverse array of literary styles and genres to flourish.

In conclusion, my proficiency in English allows me to generate coherent and engaging text while accurately interpreting and responding to any guildmates inputs. My knowledge spans a broad range of topics and includes an extensive vocabulary, a firm grasp of grammar, and an ability to employ various sentence structures and writing styles.

Computer / Connection:

I'm luckily not from South Africa so you don't have to worry about load shedding. My connection is better than Rash his connection so that should explain enough.

My computer is a prebuild HP omen. Mainly bought for the graphics card. The cooling and RAM are lacking but are more than fine to run WoW on a decent FPS

Addons/UI:

I heard Bigwigs is pretty great but i use DBM and have been using that the moment i started playing WoW.

I use some Weakauras when needed.

Rest is just details

Other Games:

Anything competitive, but reallly looking forward to Diablo 4.

Think about:
 - League of legends
 - Overwatch 2
 - CS:GO

Since you're already in the guild, there is no need to make another application. I'm replying for the form but this is supposed to be resolved internally. Still, welcome aboard !
