Unreal Tournament Players?
« on: November 28, 2007, 01:42:26 pm »
Well, Unreal Tournament 3 is out, and you may or may not know but maybe 6-7 years ago I was a huge, huge UT99 player. UT3 really is the true successor to UT99 (2003/4 was nice, but just simply not the same game, and the maps weren't as good either), and I am aching to get back onto the instagib scene.

Now, with IE being such a big bunch of gamers, I wonder if there's anyone at all here who plays, or is interested in trying, Unreal Tournament. If you like a game of skill and wit, instagib is something you will really enjoy. One weapon, needle precision, no items, and no rapid fire or zoom. It's very fast paced and the movement and quick on-the-fly mind games with your dancing can be quite exciting, and gets the blood pumping :)

Best part is with instagib is you can play different modes that will suit any number of players - a 1v1 duel map, or a full scale Red team vs Blue team Instagib Capture the Flag! Carrying the flag in this mode is a real challenge to your movement and prediciton abilities. Veyr satisfying if you can take the flag and take out all your foes while they're gunning for you though! You can also try and heroically sacrifice yourself in human shield form if it looks like it's going to be a close call.

tl;dr - Looking for any number of Unreal Tournament 3 players, ideally for instagib but ofc if that's not your bag there's always all those other modes (but psshh, iCTF is where it's at really ;D)

If you're new to UT, I'm happy to go easy and try and help people to learn the ropes while they adjust to the speed of the game. Or maybe I'm being cocky and I'll get PWNZ0RED?

If you already have UT3, you can add me to your friends list in game, my UT3 handle is "Sych" :)

O_o

Even Sint's machine could run it. And that says a lot. Quite a lot!

Well, it may be able to run it, but it didn't get past the cut scene when u start the sp campaign.  Didn't try mp for obvious reasons...

sint has a rockputer :d, i didn't enjoy ut2003 because i went onto some server and spent half an hour being repeatedly killed by a man with a flak cannon for half an hour admittedly it was on unlimited ammo and rapid fire which may have been why it was so imba.  I may buy ut3 i dunno yet though.

Sounds like you really gave it a chance! ... :P

There's a freely available demo you can download of UT3 I think. Might want to give that a go if you're unsure.

Regarding dying, it's part and parcel of improving ;) You gotta suck it down, but when you start getting pretty good, it's very rewarding to see your ability show through a very tidy ratio!

I played UT too, but when UT2 came out it just spoiled everything. If you say that UT3 is really that good, then I'll give it a try! Downloading atm.
