[Casual Raid] Druid (DPS) - Fandurion [Accepted]
« on: June 30, 2011, 03:48:50 pm »
Hello, Iron Edge!

Character: Fandurion
Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Dunemaul/Fandurion/advanced
Class/Spec: Druid (DPS)
Raid: Casual Raid

Personal Info:

Hi, my name is Yiwei I'm 21 and was born in Beijing and currently living in the Netherlands. I'm studying International Business at the University of Tilburg. At the moment I'm doing all sorts of work through an agency like: bar services during events, catering at parties, etc.

Spec:

My mainspec is balance and as an offpsec I have resto. I chose these two because gearwise it's easy to gear. Balance gear ilvl at the moment is 358 and since, apart from a trinket, my resto gear is the same my resto ilvl is 358 as well. I've played resto during wotlk and in cata i didn't want to go heal again so i decided to play balance, and so far it has been quite satisfying.

Class:

First it try to reach my hit cap, preferably by using spirit. And then I try to reforge items to max haste but without going under hit cap. So im reforging crit/haste/hit/spirit to haste as long as it doesn't affect my hit chance. I always try to keep dots up and cast starsurge whenever it is ready. And when I'm nearly out of an eclipse stage I try to cast a dot that benefits from that certain eclipse stage so that I have a stronger dot when I'm out of eclipse stage. For example, when I'm almost out of solar eclipse I will cast a sunfire and insect swarm so they are up while I enter a non-eclipse stage. And then when entering lunar eclipse I wait until sunfire is off and cast moonfire. And of course try to cast a moonfire before going out of lunar eclipse. Also, I try to match my starfall with lunar eclipse and depending on how far away I am from reaching a lunar eclipse I either wait with casting it when off cooldown or just use it when lunar eclipse is still far to come.

Alts:

I have a shaman alt, Firroz, level 80. It's an enhancement shaman I used to play on.

Professions:

I have alchemy and herbalism as profession, nothing special besides being potion master. Choose these two way back when I started leveling my druid and haven't changed it since. Makes quite good money and has always been easy to level alchemy, the bonus haste from herbalism is pretty nice as well.

Raid Experience:

Don't know what logs or wols are so I can't be of much help there.
As for raiding experience.
Classic: MC, BWL and ZG. - resto shaman
TBC: Gruul, karazhan, TK 2/4 - enhancement shaman
Wotlk: The eye, ulduar and crusaders' coliseum - resto druid
Cata: been playing cata just over a month now, no raiding experience

Previous Guilds:

Last guild I was in was Rigor Mortis, exams were coming up and I decided to take a break from WoW.
And the only other guild i can remember was "the ancients" way back in WoW classic.

Availability:

I have my last resit on july, 7. After that it's summerbreak and haven't planned anything yet.

Communication:

I hope I'm proficient in English, been studying everything in English from 3 years now so would be something if I still wasn't. Don't have teamspeak 3 at the moment but I guess I can download it, of course I can listen. I do have a microphone but I hardly use it.

Internet Connection:

Hardly any issues with my stability of gameplay, just sometimes my internet decides to quit and keeps me down for 5-15 mins and then it's up again, happens maybe once every 100 hours.

Addons/UI:

I have always used the standard blizzard UI and only have deadly boss mod as an add on for raiding. I do have atlasloot enhanced and recount but those are just for personal use.

Other Games:

No other games at the moment.

Why Iron Edge?

Seems like a mature and steady guild. I'm guessing quite experienced in raiding and well organized.

What can I offer Iron Edge?

One good balance druid who tries to keep outgoing damage maximized and incoming damage minimized.

Where did I hear about Iron Edge??

Overall guild reputation on dunemaul.

Last Words?

Fingers crossed :)

Hi again,

We currentley dont have a balance druid in our raid, and I would like it if we got one.

We need you to be able to speak up when needed, you say you are pretty quiet.

Im not that good on balance DPS in cata, but I tried to read up some on the topic
BalancePowerTracker and a DoT timer would probably make it easier for you to keep up a good dps.

You seemn to get the rotation and stats for balance, Im not really sure what the 4.2 eclipse changes will mean for your rotation, guess you will have to look in to that

Lets wait this out a bit and see of anyone has more input on this

Hi,

If you are free I would to trial you monday 19:30, Im usally online pretty late so whisper Smashme, Gaeios, Yoica or Blackwhale for a invite

You need to read up on all fireland bosses before monday, espacally Shannox and Beth. Bring volcanic potions and make sure that your microphone works :)

Please make sure to post for forum access so that you can follow the casual raid thread

Good luck with your trial!

Hi,

I have my final resits on july 6 and 7 so I probably need the time to study.
So if necessary I can maybe attend about 2 hours of raiding if this is oke.

But Thursday's night I should be free all night.

I've looked up the addons you suggested and I'll try them out.

And you're right im pretty quiet during raids, but that is because as a healer I just had to put full focus on the healing and didn't really have time or felt the need to speak up during encounters. And as healers we usually had our own channel ingame where we just chatted and set-up our roles. But I will have teamspeak and my mic up by the time we raid.

my point was that u were reforging hit to spirit, maybe u thought that the hit and regen of spirit was better than the hit of hit :P

only a small point but it would be better to leave it just as hit and maybe see if there was some other more worthwile stat u could keep on another item that u had previously reforged to hit.

Hmmm now im a bit confused, i reforged it to spirit because whether leaving it hit or reforging it to spirit wouldnt change my hit rating in balance, but as a resto spirit is more usefull than hit. Not reforged it would be 133 hit, and reforged would be 80 hit and 53 spirit which sums up to 133 hit in balance. So apart from the slightly more benefit as resto the reforge doesnt really add or decrease anything.

And I'm just a bit over my hit minimum so i cant reduce the hit/spirit on any other item. I can miss 24 hit/spirit and there is nothing whith such a small amount.

Or maybe I'm just not seeing something :p

i'm gettin online in 5-10 minutes.

yes, in istanbul we have 1gb fiber, but not around my area as i mentioned. i'll be the 1st one getting it if it comes here.

for gemming and reforging i didnt know the shadowcrafter site. also this way it is better, i had the similar stats. now the only missing enchant is the 22 agi on back which i now have 65 crit and only makes 0.9 dps difference according to the shadowcrafter.

no worries, i will make it :)

see you tonight.
