Raider Application - Druid (DPS) - Mandøs
« on: June 08, 2016, 11:12:51 pm »
Hello, Iron Edge!

I am applying for the main raid.

Character: Mandøs
Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Kazzak/Mand%C3%B8s/advanced
Class/Spec: Druid (DPS)
Member Type: raider

Personal Info:

Hi, my name is Martin, I'm 23 years old, I currently study Computer Science and work as a programmer.

Class/Spec:

My main spec is Balance, my secondary spec rotates betwen Guardian and Restoration, however for now I'm sticking to Guardian to make Mythic dungeons faster.

Balance ilvl 714, Guardian ilvl 707

My prefered talents as balance are:
Tier 1: Displacer beast - I find this talent to be extremely versatile. Even though it requires two global cooldowns I dare say the mobility is worth the price.
Tier 2: Ysera's gift - passive healing is the best choice for most of the encounters in my opinion
Tier 3: Typhooon - by far the most useful talent in this tier for all scenarios. Especially if the tanks have Starfall issues :>
Tier 4: Incarnation: Chosen of Elune - I take this talent if at any point during an encounter there is a phase with adds/burst requirement/target's damage taken increase mechanic'damage amplification.
Tier 5: Ursol's Vortex - again, no real competition in this tier for the Vortex. Very versatile, great for kiting.
Tier 6: Nature's Vigil - useful when combined with my damage increasing cooldowns, great burst of healing.
Tier 7: Euphoria - increased casting speed of empowered spells and faster Eclipse cycle make this talent the best in most scenarios.

My Balance stat priority is Intellect > Spell Power > Mastery > Critical Strike = Haste

My basic priority system is as follows:
1. Apply Moonfire & Sunfire, make sure their uptime is as close to 100% as possible
2. Keep Starsurge/Starfall charges at 1 in case the cooldown resets at the same time as the Shooting Stars procs
3. Cast Starfire and Wrath in a way that their respective casts end in appropriate Eclipse, in other words, make sure Starfire cast finishes in Lunar and Wrath cast ends in Solar Eclipse

With the introduction of the Seed of Creation the rotation is simplified, especially when it comes to Starfall usage. Now Starfall buff is gained when casting Starsurge.

Without the Seed of Creation Starfall should be cast always when 3+ targets are alive, and whenever in Lunar Eclipse when 2 targets are alive.

Alts:

Trolldos - Mage - 723 ilvl
Mandôs - Warlock - 694 ilvl
Mândos - Death Knight - 691 ilvl
Màndos - Hunter - 682 ilvl
Mändos - Monk - 683 ilvl

Professions:

I've got Jewelcrafting and Alchemy on my Druid. I picked Alchemy to have 2 hour flasks and Jewelcrafting because gems are truly outrageous. On a more serious note, I picked Jewelcrafting because I wanted a character that could craft gems.

On my other characters I have mainly Alchemy and Enchanting.

Unfortunately I don't have any cool or special recipes.

Raiding Experience:

Wrath of the Lich King (Casual Raiding):
In ICC by the end of the expansion I had 11/12HC (played Protection Warrior)

Cataclysm (Casual Raiding):
Firelands 6/7 HC pre 4.3 (played Protection Paladin). Dragon Soul 8/8HC spine killed after realm transfer to Kazzak, with 20% buff if I recall correctly (played Feral Druid tank)

Mists of Pandaria (Casual Raiding):
In the beginning of MoP my guild suffered from attendance issues (caused mostly by Kazzak queues, not everyone had the possibility of being home 2 hours before our raids in order to log in on time) and sadly we didn't manage to recover during the expansion. 5/6 MSV HC. 5/13 ToT HC (played Guardian Druid)

Warlords of Draenor (Semi-Hardcore Raiding):
7/7 Highmaul Mythic, 9/10 Blackrock Foundry Mythic (played Balance druid). Regarding achievements I've completed the Glory of the Draenor Raider on March 14th 2015.

Previous Guilds:

Quel'dorei - Polish guild, joined them in ICC, cleared 11/12 ICC 25 HC by the end of WotLK

Sovietsky Soyuz/Initium Novum - I've been the Guild Leader/Raid Leader of the guild since the beginning of the Firelands up to the guild's disbanded in ToT. It's been my favorite period in my WoW history as I truly loved raiding with those people, even despite the fact that sometimes it was rough.

Oculus - an all Polish guild that I joined in the beginning of WoD. Left because the guild started slowly dying after the initial hype disappeared.

Aquila - a guild created for BRF by the people who left Perception. We were doing okay for a new guild (9/10) but eventually the raids got worse and people started quitting. The guild disbanded when the GM decided to retire and nobody wanted to replace him. After my guild's disbandment in Blackrock Foundry I decided it would be a perfect moment to take a break from the game in order to focus on my University and pursue my B.Eng degree. Now that I've got it and my schedule is not as tight anymore I came back to the game.

Availability:

I can raid on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 19:30 until late night hours. On Sundays I can raid from 18:00 till 23:00.

I leave to Bulgaria for a week on July the 14th.

Communication:

I think my English is fluent and coherent enough to communicate.

I've got both TeamSpeak 3 and a microphone and I'm happy to use them both :)

Computer / Connection:

My PC Specs:
CPU - Intel Core i5 3570k
Graphics Card - Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670
RAM - 16GB
Motherboard - Asus P8Z77-V
Chassis - Black :)
I have 60+fps in a 20-man raid.

30-50ms latency. I lag very rarely.

Addons/UI:

http://i.imgur.com/HdbWj8S.jpg

Exorsus Raid Tools - Essential for Fights like Kromog and Kormrok
Iskar Assist - Shadow Lord Iskar must have
Eclipse Bar Plus - Helps me track my Eclipse progress
BigWigs - My boss mods addon of choice, helps me track the boss' abilities
WeakAuras2 - I use it to track DoTs, procs, Cooldowns and also debuffs such as Gorefiend's Corruption
ShadowedUnitFrames - I use it to track DoTs on emphasised targets (like Bosses)

I have my abilities bound to my numeric keypad, because I use Razer Naga Hex and its side pannel buttons are counted as a numeric keypad.

Other Games:

Apart from WoW I play Hearthstone. Occasionally I like to play a single player game such as the Witcher 3, Fallout 4 or GTA V. I used to play League of Legends but I haven't played it for a few months now.

Why Iron Edge?

After coming back to WoW I'm looking for a guild I could call home and that's what Iron Edge seems to be. I've heard about the friendly atmosphere in the guild and that's something I enjoy very much about playing WoW and something that makes WoW stand out among other online games - the community. I really love raiding and progress, but doing it in a good environment makes it much better.

What can I offer Iron Edge?

I’m just the average guy, who likes gaming and has a great sense of humor. I am constantly striving to be as good as possible, and seek further ways to improve my performance. I also consider myself to be a mature and honest player. I'm sure that my knowledge regarding both the character I am playing and the game itself makes me a great benefit to the guild. I'm always prepared, always familliar with the tactics. However, at the same time I want to keep improving as a player, I'm not haughty enough to say "I'm perfect, there's nothing I can do better". I also consider myself to be a mature raider, especially when it comes to taking criticism. I'm always open for suggestions, backed up by arguments. Summing up I would contribute with a knowdledgeable, dedicated and ambitious player, with a stalwart attitude, who knows and understands that progress demands sacrifice and dedication.

Where did I hear about Iron Edge?

I found you on wowprogress, and my friend Tutan plays in your guild.

This will be held against your application, no one is merely friends with Tutu!

Good luck on the apply :)

Hi Mandos!

Pretty decent application, I assume you're from Poland?

How often would you say you take breaks from WoW?

Hi Mandos, Nice to see you have applied!

Mandos and I did challenge modes together right at the beginning of this expansion.  He healed and I tanked.  I found him to be a strong player with very good communication, exactly what you want in challenge modes.  Once we had progressed a certain point of the instances he rarely made mistakes and adapted well to difficult situations on the fly.

What I liked most about Mandos was that he stuck with our group for the full duration of challenge modes, even when we hit a brick wall on Everbloom.

Best of luck with your application!

Hi,

I completely forgot about including logs. Here are my druid's most recent mythic logs:
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/rankings/character/1028318/7/

And apparently I also completely forgot about telling where am I from.  Yes I am from Poland, from Warsaw to be specific.

Ever since I started playing WoW in the Burning Crusade I've only taken breaks that lasted 1-2 weeks at most. Mostly due to vacation, but it's been a while since I've had the time to go somewhere for holiday. Another reason for me to take a break was studying for a hard exam at the end of the semester, in Poland the Winter exam session takes place in early February and the Summer session takes place in the middle of June, however, it's been a couple of years since I had to do that :).

Ah okay, that seems fine.

Based on your kill history it seemed like you took a lot of long-term breaks at periods later in expansions, but if that's not the case you've put my mind at ease.

If you're interested and have time tonight, you might be able to join us for Mannoroth and Archimonde. Can't make any promises, but if you'd like to get a feel for our raid before Legion, this would be your last chance. You can poke me around 19:30 if you're up for it.

Hi!

So what should I do now? I tried talking to you (Rashkebab) on Thursday but you were busy, and seems you had a guild meetup during the weekend.

Hi Mandos, sorry for not getting back to you sooner.

We had a guild meet up indeed. You can poke an officer for an invite if you'd like, but we're currently not raiding anymore until Legion. So we can do a separate raider trial when Legion raiding starts.
