Raider Application - Paladin (Healer) - Holybaecon
« on: April 11, 2020, 06:45:46 pm »
Hello, Iron Edge!

I am applying for the main raid.

Character: Holybaecon
Armory: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/character/eu/Kazzak/Holybaecon
Class/Spec: Paladin (Healer)
Member Type: Raider

Personal Info:

My name is Christian, I am 31 year old dude from Denmark. I work in the marketing department in a small engineering company, I do not know what we sell, but I help them sell it well. (That rhymes)
When I´m not working I like to play Teh GAimz, I am not what you would typically call an outdoor person, but sometimes I like to play Tennis with my friends. I also like to meme.
My mom tells me I am a funny man, my friends hate me :) but that is fine because I have no friends :’( (thats a meme…. btw)
I have also been going to school/high school with Frank (some say this is a plus) and we are good friends still today.

Class/Spec:

I prefer to play the healer role. Going into BFA my plan was only to play Mythic+ and not raid any tier. With the introduction of Mythic+ the healer role has changed to a somewhat hybrid role where you have to keep your group alive but also be able to help out doing damage, coming from a time of playing and raiding as a damage dealer I welcome this playstyle.

Ended up tanking/dps´ing most of BFA season 2, I did not like it.

Gear: in my haste/mastery gear I use for raid I have 473 ilvl.
Mythic+ holy gear (crit): 475 ilvl
Prot: 474 ilvl
Ret: 471 ilvl

Mythic+:
I go for high crit to reach the softcap of 40%, I prefer to keep my haste at around 25%, rest goes into versatility (if I have the items), I prefer to not go above 0 corruption for high keys, since a slow at the wrong time can kill me. At lower keys I just put on as much dps corruption items I have without going above 39 corruption.
Gemming: Crit until I reach 40% crit, then versatility (I have enough haste from my gear, but currently I won’t have enough gem slots to be able to do this)
Playstyle: I keep glimmer up on the tank and just pump as much damage into things as possible, healing people when they need it, I don’t keep glimmer up on the entire group, unless for a few fights where the group damage is constant (ie. Galvazzt in Temple)
Cooldown management: Hmm I mostly just stack all my cooldowns on pull with lust + potion for highest damage, there are a few fights where I can't do this and need to chain them (again high group damage fights) but 85% of the time I just blow everything on the pull.

Raid:
Stacking as much haste/mastery as possible here so I can get glimmer out on people as fast as possible. For corruption I tend to stay below 19. Ideally, I would try and get as many Ineffable Truth corruption ranks as possible but sadly I haven’t found any.
Gemming: I gem haste, I have yet to try and gem mastery to see what difference it makes.
Priority: Holy shock, crusader strike to reduce cooldown of holy shock, light of dawn if melee needs healing. Flash of light as an emergency heal.
The holy paladin´s strength comes from the highly efficient heal of holy shock + glimmer, I only use Flash of light as a last resort.
Cooldown management: So far in heroic raids I have been blowing wings on pull to get glimmer out on as many as possible, so far it has been working fine with boss mechanics lining up well with my cooldowns being ready again when I need them.
If the boss is about to phase and I have cooldowns ready I hold them.

Alts:

Warrior: 470 ilvl Arms / prot, I don’t like either, this was a total waste of time.
Monk: 470 ilvl Mistweaver, just made it to have fun in lvl 15 M+ keys, pulling big and blowing things up with Way of the Crane. It should have decent gear for Fistweaving in raids as well but I have not tried this before.
37% haste with 1x Rank 3 Expedient corruption.
Druid:  only 430 ilvl, but planning to play it a bit more for some high M+ keys.

Professions:

Alchemy / Engineering: 2 hour flask. The trinket is pretty good in dungeons / 480 Azerite helm with glimmer + combat res.
Nothing on the alts, should get alc/engi on the monk as well at some time
No cool or special recipes.

Raiding Experience:

While not having any Cutting edge achievements I have been raiding as:

Mage:
Started playing Wow back when Vanilla came out in a 5 day raiding guild, cleared everything except the last 3 bosses in Naxx.
Cleared everything in TBC except last 3 bosses in Sunwell.
WoD, cleared Blackrock foundry (heroic), got to kill 3 bosses on Mythic then my Graphics card blew up and by the time it took me to get a new one the guild was disbanded (RIP)
Legion, cleared Emerald Nightmare heroic, got to Cenarius Mythic then I quit since I could not be bothered respeccing (having to re-farm legendaries and AP).

DK tank:
Wotlk, quit after clearing Ulduar, I was starting University and did not have time to commit to a 5 day raiding guild anymore.

Discipline priest:
Came back in late MoP and cleared SOO normal (now heroic)

Resto druid:
Nighthold heroic + 4 Mythic bosses

Holy paladin:
Made it back in TBC and been raiding everything in TBC/Wotlk on it
BFA, have only cleared Ny’alotha heroic.

Previous Guilds:

The Dominion: A 5 day raiding guild I played with in Vanilla -> Wotlk, got a lot of server firsts back in the day. (Server was pretty shit, so this might have made us the kings of an empty castle, but dammit we were kings)
Also played with these guys in WoD, but at a much more casual level.

Did not play in a guild in MoP, it was more of a community of friends who was raiding in Mythic guilds at the time and they brought me in to clear heroic raid (yeah I got carried)

Memento: In Legion (not the top 10 world French guild), here I met a lot of the Danes that now call IE their second home. And still play a lot with them today.

Availability:

Availability: got a normal 9-17 CET job so I'm available any weekday past 18.00 CET.
Weekends, whenever I wake up

Communication:

I do speak english, I use the Steelseries Artic Pro, it has a pretty crisp microphone.
I use Discord alot for when I do Mythic+ dungeons to call out when to use defensive cooldowns, and to meme.
I have Teamspeak, Discord, Ventrillo, Mumble, Skype, MSN Messenger, Twitter, Grindr, Facebook chat, 2 cups with a string attached, trained Pidgeon’s (well maybe not trained).

Computer / Connection:

I can run most games at 60+ FPS.
In raids, I have not had any issues so far, steady 60+ FPS.
Internet is stable, 200/200.
No lag issues on Kazzak at all, around 35 ms ping.
I do not disconnect every hour.

Addons/UI:

https://imgur.com/a/oEgxAIg
I hide all my bars so forgive the mess. I have BoP bound to shift + left click.
Flash of light to left click, Holy light to right click.

I use Vuhdo as raid frames, a feature I like in Vuhdo is the ability to bind unique mouseover keys, and customization of important debuffs, being able to attach a color and sound to debuffs I need to cleanse fast really gives me an edge I feel.

I use Bigwigs and also customize it to my own preference, I can swap to whatever addon the raid is using.

and WeakAuras

Other Games:

Mostly single player RPG games, sometimes when I feel like it some Shooters.

Why Iron Edge?

Been wanting to come back to Mythic raiding for a while now, and with alot of my friends (aka the Danes) already being in Iron Edge, it feels like the logical choice.
I prefer to commit myself to a guild that plans to raid for a long time into the future and
looking at the history of IE shows that this is a guild of focus and commitment, being able to keep a guild alive for this long is not something a lot of people can boast about.
Been watching some streams of your raid and the atmosphere is also matching what I am looking for.

Dont forget to like, comment and subscribe to https://www.twitch.tv/waldohxd #SellOutSunday#WhereIsTheNippleCam?

What can I offer Iron Edge?

I'm a pretty good Holy paladin, a scuffed Arms warrior and a mediocre (at best) Mistweaver monk. I do realise that the spot of a healer is somewhat limited, and I do not mind sitting out on encounters. I also know that my Mythic Raid experience is lacking, but what I lack in Raid experience I hope to make up for in knowledge of the game, and dank meme´s.
I also don't mind helping people get their weekly 15´s done.

Where did I hear about Iron Edge?

Pop-up commercial on Pornhub. (not gonna lie, things got weird)

Last Words?

Hey there Christian,

Thanks for your application  and interest in Iron Edge. Our current healing team is quite full, as you may know we are running 7 healers currently and you would be the 8th. This shouldn't be too much of a problem but there will be alot of benching and swapping between bosses, if you're fine with this i would like to offer you a trial as healer on the mainraid.

Please look at this this thread (https://www.iron-edge.co.uk/index.php?topic=8454.msg146660#msg146660/) for any information regarding raiding with us. you can poke an officer for a guild invite.

Welcome aboard!

Cheers,

Nashor
