People keep linking that guy as some kind of opera God... it's starting to piss me off.

He chose one of the greatest tenor pieces of ALL TIME and did a mediocre job of it. I mean, sure he's not shit... but there were better people in the competition.

It's not like he sang another piece to show that he had a range of skills...

It's not even that hard a song to sing - it's just SO awesome and dramatic... the chords the orchestra are hitting actually have more of an effect on you than his vocals... but obviously normal viewers don't notice that, and just know they've been moved hugely by his performance.

I liked the young kid that did some dancing/singing/acting routine personally :P
Now I run a tech website.

Considering that he is a total amateur he is quite good I must admit. I don't know why are u so against the guy Dell. Sure, there are much better performers but I doubt that there is a similar case where a guy who wasn't teached to be opera singer can pull this out. Brilliant!

He's not bad, don't get me wrong. There were just more talented people in the contest!

He chose one of the greatest songs of all time to sing...

Here's how it's meant to sound:

If you're not shaking/shuddering after listening to this... well... you are not human :)

It doesn't sound too good on youtube obviously, but if anyone wants a decent version of it, I can upload it.
