Raid preparation, where to farm etc
« on: August 16, 2006, 01:00:57 pm »
Hola guys,
As we all know, as we move on in naxx we require to bring more and more consumables, especially Greater (insert school of magic) Protection potion. Some players seem to have trouble finding the required mats for the pot, so I though i'd make a little farm post   :-*

Greater Fire Protection Potion
Requires: One Dreamfoil, one Elemental fire, one Crystal vial.
Sell price for a stack: Depending on guilds raiding, usually 10-15g Per stack.
Reciepe drop/Vendor:Firebrand Invokers from LBRS( easy soloable for Rogues/druids)
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/mob.html?wmob=9262#map

The Dreamfoil can be gathered by herbalists in a large area of Azeroth, but most often used is Felwood (BEWARE always do a /who Felwood before going. if you see 15 or more, really, dont bother). Normal stack price is around 15gold, to all the way up to 20.

If you are a herbalist, you might also want to get Gatherer. Gatherer is an addon, that gathers all the herbs you ever harvest and puts small icons of the herb into your minimap, very usefull, for me atleast: http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/wow/addons-44-1-gatherer.html

Elemental Fire can be easily gathered from different kinds of Fire Elemental mobs (Level 56-60) Around the Fire Plume Ridge (big spot on the middle of the map).Theese mobs also drops Heart of fire, which can be transmuted by an Alchemist into three elemental fires. The Normal price for one Elemental fire is about one gold, and one heart of fire usually goes for around 1-3 depending on if the seller is smart or st0pid.

Crystal vials are sold by vendors all around Azeroth.

Greater Frost Protection Potion
Requires: One Elemental water, one Dreamfoil, one Crystal vial
Sell price: Not that needed at the moment, so rarely on the auction house. but usually goes for 12-15g.
Reciepe drop/Vendor: Reciepe drops from Frostmaul Giants (60+) in Winterspring
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/map.html?wmob=7428;zoneid=1021 <-- Map for the mobs, with Coords.

Elemental water drops quite often out of the Lesser Water elementals in Stranglethorn vale:
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/map.html?wmob=691;zoneid=2018  <-- Map, with Coords.

Greater Nature Protection Potion
Requires: One Elemental earth, one Dreamfoil, one Crystal vial
Sell price: Pretty needed atm, goes for about 20g a stack.
Reciepe dropd/Vendor:Rotting Behemoths, mobs from the Weeping cave, Western Plaguelands.
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/mob.html?wmob=1812#map

Greater Shadow Protection Potion
Requires: One Shadow oil, one Dreamfoil, one Crystal vial
Sell price: Expensive, about 30g a stack.
Reciepe drop/Vendor: drops from Dark Adepts in Eastern plaguelands.
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/mob.html?wmob=8546#map

Shadow oil is brewed by alchemists, and requires 4x Fadeleaf, 4x Grave moss, 1x leaded vial

Greater Nature Protection Potion

The elemental earth can be grinded in the Badlands from the elemental mobs. There is a pack of them to the left of Kargath and a pack in the southcentre of the badlands. They die like flies and have a 10% drop rate.

Woah, gratz for the rank Nox and thanks for a guide.
I would like to add about greater SR pots... Fadeleaf isn't hard to get but grave moss is. It can be farmed in SM graveyard with tons of reset instance, only thing that makes it so damn expencive is hunter quest for epic bow and staff. This potion will be very needed in encounters that are in front of us in Naxxaramas so whenever u are bored pay a visit to SM.

grave moss is also available in the kodo graveyard in desolace. this is usually a good spot to pick up 2-3.

i generally find it to be a pain as its so little when you are looking for it.

You can also pick up about 3-4  in tomb the tomb east of Darrowshire in EPL.

Just go east until you reach a graveyard, go all the way down the tomb, kill the trolls and tada!

Shouldn't be that much trouble considering you're in EPL almost every night. It's about 4 grave moss for 4 kills. EZMODE!
