Maybe most ppl in the raid blame kage for the wipe but I don't think he is the main reason we wiped. If he had waited and dispelled later we would most likely not have wiped but then he would, as he is saying, have overcompensated in his part of the tactic to allow others to not follow the tactic. If kesh had moved according the tactic then what kage did would have been correct so when kage followed the tactic he failed because another person failed to follow the tactic therefore I think the main reason for the wipe is not the person doing as he should but the person not following the strat.

The dispeller should ofc never dispel a person with the debuff in the raid but the person with the debuff should also move according the tactic so kage might have been wrong dispelling but the person moving incorrectly was the main reason we got the wipe and you can’t really blame kage just because he had the ability to compensate for others failing to follow the tactic imo.

But then again a superior player would adapt to what is going on in the raid and most likely compensate for when ppl change minor stuff in the strat. Not to say that kage should have seen kesh moving in a wrong direction because imo that is not really his job but it would ofc be nice to avoid a wipe when stuff like this happens.

Another way to see it is that Delling normally doesn’t want us to change anything to the strat at all without announcing it so that would further justify kage when he was simply following the tactic.

I also don’t see a reason for blaming anyone for the wipe as it was a combination of unlucky events and it have only happened once like this with a person moving through the boss etc so I don’t see the point in using a lot of energy in rng events like this.

Shit text narrowed down: I don't blame kage for the wipe :)

From my point of view it seems like it's gone down like this.

Kage dispels Daekesh that was indeed at the wrong place

Raid tells Kage to ensure that he watches where the player he is dispelling is at next time so the situation can be saved

Kage refusing to admit that what he did wasn't perfect and throw a hissy african fit

Raid gets hissy and fits back.

I wish we brought up this kind of drama for every wipe. There wouldn't be enough time to read all the bitching and whining!

It's understandable that people get frustrated during late-summer raiding with barely no people, but we had the best raid composition in many weeks yesterday and made some nice progress. This whining and moaning is just a brain-drain and serves no purpose other than just that: to let off some whine-steam.

Seriously, just drop it and go at it again.

If kesh had moved according the tactic then what kage did would have been correct

No matter what the other person does, no matter where they move, dispelling them without knowing where they are is NEVER the right thing to do.  The fact that this hadn't caused problems before is probably more down to luck than anything else.

This is what Kage, and seemingly you, fail to realise.

Best comment in the thread. Simple but oh so true.

You know, today when the elevator in Ring of Valor came up, I rushed in the opponent ATC (Prot Warrior, Hunter, Holy Pala) to do a fear. Before I reached them I got chain stunned, silenced and then died 5 seconds later whilst doing 0 healing.

What you guys are discussing isn't even close to my level of fail and stupidness that game. Shit happens, learn from it, don't fuckup again. That counts for pretty much everything in life...

Now excuse me, I have to get back to my second book. You may remember my first one.

It's easy to say 'oh just drop it', but that's no use if just dropping it is likely to result in the same wipe being made again and again when it could be avoided.

Well you can drop it during the raid and you can drop it after a 4-page thread. That's quite a difference and I really doubt anyone will make this mistake again. I mean, what more is there left to say now?  :)

Yes, the dispeller should be watching their target. That's what I do. That's why I like having a shape on the cursed target, so that I can see them clearly.

I'm back to raiding full time with this reset. Let's get some Halion pie tomorrow -- or on Monday!
Now I run a tech website.
