Surim - Warlock - F&F Application
« on: September 25, 2010, 08:03:16 pm »
Personal Information

My name is Steven Inskip and live in East London, South Africa. I'm a web developer now working for a medium sized software company. I previously made a post looking for a spot in B-Raid quite some time ago. Since then I have taken a break from work as I do freelancing in the evenings and didnt have time to play. Things have started to calm down leaving me with some spare time, and having just bought a 27in iMac, I am really excited to see some wow on that big screen.

My toonz

I only play 2 characters. I have my main which is a 80 warlock, and a 67 death knight I started just before I took a break.

Surïm (I know I need to change the name) - Death Knight - http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Dunemaul&cn=Sur%C3%AFm

Sponsors

I actually know a few people in IE. My sponsors would be Sukiw (Nadia), and Footmunch (Wank). They both r/l friends of mine. Actually have Raph over at my place now as I make this application. We went to the same college a few years ago. I finished and got a job, but the others just seemed to stay :P

Looking forward to getting back to wow and hoping to be part of the awesome community of Iron Edge.

A b-raiding spot would be great, but I know my gear isn't up to scratch.

Most of my web dev work I do is for internal systems, not really web sites, but take a look at www.socialite-media.co.za That is the freelance company I work for.

No need to be a Mac hater. A 27in with a native resolution of 2560x1440 makes everything look insane ;) Finally finished patching it :)

True that jQuery ftw. It is the only bit of that dirty language called Javascript I will accept to use :P I use the normal jQuery library and jQuery UI. Has basically everything I need in those 2 packages. Anything else, Google will help (if I'm too lazy :P )

Why buy another PC when you can have the sleak sexy awesomeness of a 27in iMac :P Apple does things right. Also, normal 27inch screens cant do the 2560x1440 resolution which is awesome for coding + photoshop.

I still have my decently spec'd PC right next to it running a 23in and a 22in. My desk is just crazy ^^ (I have a MacBook too) hehehe

27" monitors, decent ones, are really quite expensive and probably are most of the cost of the imac.  Had this discussion with Skymunken before!

I really like the sleak look of the iMac. Plain and simple. Goes nicely with my Macbook Pro. :P
