I've been reading up on the lore and it seems done well enough, there's a lot of history and cool things to explore and experience.

I will almost certainly at least buy the game.

First game is worth a play if you want some more lore.

In terms of story (Your experince may differ)

Prophecies(1st one they did)>Nightfall(3rd)>Factions(2nd)>Eye of the north(4th) Although eye of the north is more like a prologue for Guild wars 2

Figured I'd post some videos of each races music main music when you are at a climax point in the story mode or doing a zone wide event (In the last case I heard the Charr music playing when we we're fighting the Shatterer. I think they also play during the zones climax aswell. Examples would be Shadow Behemoth, Ascalon ghosts and...I actually have no idea what the Norn one is.

Guildwars 2 is set 200 years after Eye of the North if I'm not mistaken. There are 2 books which cover the large gap. First book is Ghosts of Ascalon and the 2nd is Edge of Destiny. I am currently reading the first one and gives a lot of insight into the game.
Sometimes, when I'm alone and can't sleep at night, I get naked, rub Vasoline all over my body and pretend I'm a slug in the kitchen. Ever tried it?

oh incase people didnt know if you pre-purchased you get a 3 day headstart before the game goes like so august 25th is when it really begins

If it's RP then petrified forest is the one you want, it would seem. My line of thinking is that GW2's similarities to Warhammer online, along with the way WvWvW is, point very strongly to "get on as high populated server as you can".

why not just pick the right server , then when people ask "Hey why aren't u transferring?" , you can say "Fools , i am on the right server alreay".
