Re. streaming; at uni, my upstream is only 900-1000k (so I generally only use 600-750 for streaming to avoid lagging myself too much, at least when playing online games). If we do some 5v5 or wahtever in dota or other game, especially if it's not an online game, it should be no problem for me to stream it. It might not be glorious quality (definitely won't be anything approaching hi res), but it will be completely watchable.

Yeah, it should be fine for SupCom. Doubt Dota 2 or Diablo 3 will cope very well though, with 10 of us playing.

BTW, I just finished making a barbecue! It was some flat-pack thing... quite a nice one... so... barbecue is on

rebellion (its an ex-pac for sins) is on steam and it says it comes out 12th of june you see

Main thing is making sure enough people have the game! If it's commercial, off Steam, then I doubt everyone will have it -- unless it's DOTA, D3, etc.

Ohhh, that reminds me! Left 4 Dead 2! That should be on the list too.

This is a list of things you should do/buy/obtain/update before Edgefest next weekend.

First, games:

Update or obtain the following games
DOTA 2

Half Life 2: Deathmatch
Left 4 Dead 2 (I think enough people have this, yes?)

Now, things to bring with you to the LAN, and ground rules:

• Scan your computer for viruses, make sure virus definitions are up to date.
• Update your games! Run Steam update and so on BEFORE the event.
• Turn off Windows file sharing.
• Set your network adapter to 'get IP from DHCP'. Make sure internet connecting sharing is turned off, or anything that might make your computer act as a DHCP server/gateway[/li
  

Physical stuffs you need to bring:

• YOUR COMPUTER!
• A four-way power cable!
• A network cable! (needs to be 5+ meters long ideally. If you have a bunch of 5+ meter cables, please bring 'em along.
• At least one Your Country-to-UK plug adaptor (this will go on the end of your four-way, and into my power cables)
• HEADPHONES. No speakers!
• Your game discs and stuff (though I can't think of many you would need to bring...
• Mobile phone charger
• Double check all your cables. Kettle leads for monitor + PC. USB cables. hubs, etc.
• ONLY BRING ONE MONITOR. Not two! There is unlikely to be space for second monitors or laptops (you can bring your laptop, but you might have to leave it in the tent/car/etc[/li
  

And now boring stuffs...

• Your TENT! (Or make sure you have a space in someone else's tent)
• Your SLEEPING BAG! And a pillow! And an air bed! etc.
• A towel!
• Shower gel, shampoo, etc. (You can leech mine if you want, but I may not have enough shower gel for everyone...)
• Clothes
• A torch (can be handy in the night)
• BRING FOOD/SNACKS. Stop at the supermarket on the way. You can go shopping once you get here, but that's a waste of GAMING TIME.

Ground rules...

• NO DRUGS! (Except caffeine, nicotine, taurine, etc.)
• No open cups/glasses in my house (if you want to use a sports drink container thingee, go for it). If you spill a drink on someone's computer, I'll kick you out of the guild and my house.
• Liquor is allowed -- but please be sensible. If you get really drunk, I will just kick you outside. If you get really drunk and then act like a retard in the gaming room, you'll get kicked out of the guild (and I'll repossess your computer).
• You're welcome to hang around in the garden, my house, the gaming hall -- but you need to stay out of everything else

So, I was supposed to make this post way earlier,  but I'm a retard.
I'm still in need of a PC for this neat event, since I'm unable to bring one on the flight.

Any brits/dutchies with the ability to bring an old spare?

re: cooking... yes, there's an oven. Would rather not have people faff around with the stove though -- messy, time-consuming.

Sint's idea of bringing frozen pizzas sounds like a good idea.

There is a chip shop near by (5 mins walk). Dominos does deliver (just). Think there's an Indian place, too.

I have bought cereal + milk, though I doubt I have enough for 15 people to all have some, every morning.

Have also bought lots of meat for a barbecue (but again, might not be enough if everyone wants 3 burgers, etc.)

Btw, we're currently looking at an entrance fee of around £10 each, for tables and other bits. Don't foresee that going any higher, unless you want me to buy a water pump so that your tent doesn't drown in the field...
