X-com: Enemy Unknown
« on: September 15, 2012, 04:12:19 pm »
It's a new X-com game made by Firaxis (you know from Civ games)
at first i was sceptical but then i watched

and that got me excited because it looks like it might be hard to play and well the last time i heard about X-com was when they announced they would make a fucking FPS reboot of the game.
No thank you X-com is a Turn based game not a fucking FPS so im happy they are making a turn based game again, Though i was a bit sceptical at first because most of the time rebooting old games means making them a lot easier then they should be but this game still seems difficult
Sure you dont have 20 people in  a squad anymore but making a mistake still means you lose people

anyway here is a preview if you feel like watching 1 hour of gameplay is to long for you :P

Had a blast playing this for like 5 hours straight. It's not exactly ufo/terror with better graphics and modern interface, it's a bit more casual friendly, but still damn fun. Ironman (one autosave when you turn game off) on Classic diffuculty is quite exciting and challenging (or im just bad).

Oh God said to Abraham, "Kill me a son"
Abe says, "Man, you must be puttin' me on"
God say, "No."
Abe say, "What?"
God say, "You can do what you want Abe, but the next time you see me comin' you better run"
Well Abe says, "Where do you want this killin' done?"
God says, "Out on Highway 61"

I'm enjoying this game quite a bit. A nice remake of the old one, but based on that tech tree I'm almost done with the game. It's shame it's only a 5-6 hrs playthrough and I didn't even rush anything. :(

I haven't gone straight for story only I take any mission that comes along. Done most if not all research including catching live aliens and quite a number of the foundry upgrades. Almost all the soldiers are at least major rank and the ones with psionic powers are maxed.
